How to read the MYSQL geometry field with FIREDAC

Question

I want to change an application working with MSSQL now to MYSQL using Firedac DB components. Therefore I created a first database with an geometry type field

CREATE TABLE TESTTAB (geom GEOMETRY);

writing data to the table seem to be fine but I fail while reading the geom data field.

FDQuery := TFDQuery.Create;
FDQuery.SQL.add(.....);
.....
geomtext := FDQuery.Fieldbyname('geom').Asstring;

As I understand the error msg, the geometry field can't be extracted as *.text from the database, how to get the content of a field with DELPHI + Firedac ? Using Firadac and MSSQL everything works fine, I get the text and convert It later to a polygon or point list or .....
