I have to test if current Location is near some specific location. In my test class Im trying to create that specific location by setting longitude and latitude, In App these data is coming from backend. In my test class Im entering them manually. Because my functions are repeating too many times I have to use ParametizedTest offered by Junit5. But using Junit5 made for me impossible to RunWith(RoboElectricTestRunner.class). Instead I start using mannodermaus plugin for Android testing with Junit5. It brought another problem that I cant figure out, my Location object returns now null instead of setting lon and lat

Before it was working fine, when I used JUnit4 and @RunWith(RobolectricTestRunner.class). Now I use Junit5 with mannodermaus plugin.

Well, I figured out how to do this with Mockito:

val mockInitializer: MockedConstruction.MockInitializer<Location> = MockedConstruction.MockInitializer { mock, _ ->
   doReturn(12.494831).`when`(mock).latitude
   doReturn(83.49899).`when`(mock).longitude
}

Mockito.mockConstruction(Location::class.java, mockInitializer)

Then you can initialize a Location which is going to be a mock with the initialization indicated.


EXTRA:

Probably you would need to have several mocks with different values. Lets suppose you will need 2 mock initializers with different values. Then you can do something like this:

    11.0 to 22.0,
    33.0 to 44.0

val mockInitializer: MockedConstruction.MockInitializer<Location> = 
MockedConstruction.MockInitializer { mock, _ ->

        doReturn(it.first).`when`(mock).latitude
        doReturn(it.second).`when`(mock).longitude
    }
}

Mockito.mockConstruction(Location::class.java, mockInitializer)

Of course, this will throw an exception if you try to initialize a third Location, but it just an example. With this snippet I'm sure you can figure out how to adapt it to solve your problem.
