I am trying to capture the camera stream with getUserMedia and play it on a ReactJS page. The problem is, when the HTML5 video element is not on the screen ( switching different tabs or scrolling down ) the video stops. I guess when you switch to a different tab in a ReactJS page the page freezes completely, is that the case ? Or is there something going on with the HTML5 video element.

Here is how I get the stream;
