I'm just getting started with custom UI using RenderBox. When I learn about MultiChildRenderObjectWidget and do a little example of it, I came across the following problem:
When I insert a list of many children on the screen, the height of the widgets will be larger than the height of the screen. Now I add a SingleChildScrollView tag to allow scrolling up to view. And the error happened.It cannot scroll. And throw error like bellow. I tried to change the size property in the performLayout() method. But get the desired result.

  • @pskink I see BoxConstraints(0.0<=w<=384.0, 0.0<=h<=**Infinity**). height is Infinity May 28 at 18:02

  • @pskink. of error messages. However, it is still not scrollable. When I change BranchComponent to Column( children:[Text, BranchComponent, Text])) I found out that the Texts overlap the BranchComponent May 29 at 5:44

  • I modified the dotColor pass through the constructor, to be able to change the color more dynamically. However when I hotReload UI didn't update again until I hotReset. Do you know How to hotReload will change color when pass parameter through constructor? Jun 2 at 2:29

  • a note: if you want to add some other properties (in addition to dotColor) that would need to change the layout of your custom render box (like childPadding for example) you need to call markNeedsLayout instead of markNeedsPaint
