I'm using Spring Boot v2.7.0 and Spring Cloud stack to perform interservice communication. I saw few solutions like: https://github.com/spring-cloud/spring-cloud-gateway/issues/2091, but none of them worked for me.

As per solution suggested by @Chetan - If I have multiple instances of inventory-service up, then only this logic works, it doesn't work with single instance

For using the WebClient with Discovery, declare following bean in configuration.

    @Bean
    @LoadBalanced
    public WebClient.Builder loadBalancedWebClientBuilder() {
     return WebClient.builder();
    }

Autowire this in class where you are calling other service,

    @Autowired
    private WebClient.Builder webClientBuilder;

And, instead of webClient.get(), use webClientBuilder.build().get()

  • Very Strange this works when I've multiple copies of Inventory-services running, with the single instance it doesn't works!

  • Did you tried on my source code? LoadBalancer logically may look for multiple instance, for single instance - with/without loadBalance I still see original issue

  • Tried with your code as well. It is working with single or multiple instances. When I comment Loadbalanced Webclient, it gives 404 Jun 10, 2022 at 18:10

for some reason I make it work by typing exactly the service url default zone like this: eureka.client.service-url.defaultZone=http://localhost:8761/eureka/

I had the same problem and have now solved the issue, I don't care what registry is used and if a gateway service is used. For example: Discovery: nacos webflux:spring-boot-starter-webflux:5.3.25 spring boot: 2.7.11 JDK: open 19 when I have a remote reqeust with WebClient [enter image description here][1] I got this error: [enter image description here][2] So the real issue is why cann't find remote server by server name. Client cannot loadbalance by nacos instances information So i add a new dependency

Added Below line in application.properties file in all the services(Eureka clinets) including the discovery service (eureka server).

eureka.instance.prefer-ip-address=true

Now able to run the request from postman and save the order value in DB by checking the inventory service
