How to enable chmod +a in centos [closed]

Question

I am trying

sudo chmod +a "www-data allow delete,write,append,file_inherit,directory_inherit" app/cache app/logs

It says invalid mode How can i enable it

chmod +a is MacOS X syntax, not Linux.

What are your trying to do? CHMOD doesn't work that way.

chmod [options] mode file1 ...

mode can be given as a octal value e.g. 0644 or as a symbolic value u=6,go=r ...

@user1094163 read the docs again, it says if that doesn't work (and it won't on Linux) then use ACLs or change umask – linuts Jan 7 '12 at 10:15
