My PhD research proposes a Context-Aware Recommender System (CARS) of video contents about public and social services tailored for the Portuguese elderly, for later exhibition on an Interactive TV (iTV) platform. - Developed the Recommender System using Python Scikit-learn, Django web framework and MySQL DB. This software was developed in the context of the +TV4E project (http://tv4e.web.ua.pt/) and a fully functional version of this work is being tested with a sample of 20 seniors in a domestic enviroment. - Gave talks about the thesis progress in the AMC TVX 2017 (Hilversum, Netherlands) and CIST 2017 (Lisbon, Portugal)

This system has been developed in the scope of my PhD research and proposes a context aware recommender system (CARS) of informative contents about Assistance Services of General Interest for the Elderly (ASGIE), for later exhibition on an Interactive TV (iTV) platform. The motivation of this research is to enhance the TV watching experience and promote seniors’ autonomy, wellbeing and info-inclusion by providing personalized high-valued informative contents.

The POST (Quality of Public Open Space Tool) is a well-established and validated tool designed for auditing public open spaces such as parks and other greenspaces, with particular emphasis on the physical attributes that may either encourage or discourage their use for physical activity. The POST relies on direct observation and it is composed of 49 items covering four key domains: activities, environmental quality, comfort, and safety.
