Currently reviewing technologies from Cumulus, Big Switch, Mellanox, Edge-Core, and Accton for building SAI or SwitchDev based wire speed lan switching/routing environments.

Using Python and SaltStack to automate the provisioning of the network infrastructure as well as the virtualization guests and their connectivity. The goal is to provision and manage upgrades of the core hardware and private routing, the public routing, and the private virtualization environments through automation tools.

As technologies and solutions are rolled out, train the technical team members in the use of the tools use and function.

I built this script to provide an ability of adding over-rides to a debian preseed file which would be used during the pxeboot process of automatically installing a debian operating system on physical hardware or into a virtualization guest.

Python / Postgresql based ip address management -- incomplete, inactive

I started this project as attempt as the next stage of a developing an ip address management solution. During the prototyping process, I realized I that strong typing of variables would help reduce errors and in troubleshooting across a number of different libraries. This is now an inactive project, but is saved in order to be able to re-use code ideas in other projects.

Installing multiple Debian based Linux servers manually from an iso or a network install is a laborius process. Fortunately this process can be automated. Through a combination of a PXEBoot process, and providing answers to prompts via a preseed file, the process can be automated from the initial boot all the way to the final login. By incorporating the salt-minion files into the build process, the post build/configuration can also be fully automated.
